A Slow Market Day

A Slow Market Day

As the air cools and the mornings grow softer, we find ourselves leaning into a slower rhythm. At Tutto Bello, winter is a time to return to the small rituals that bring us warmth - from what we wear, to what we cook, and where we shop.

For Carmen, Martin and Chloe, Saturday mornings often begin at the Albury/Wodonga Farmers Market. It's a tradition they all enjoy, hot coffee in hand, browsing the stalls, and choosing the freshest produce for the week ahead. Carmen always stops by RAD Organics, her go-to for beautiful, high-quality fruits and vegetables.

Citrus is a favourite at this time of year, and Chloe’s Italian Orange Cake has become a much-loved recipe in their home. We’ve shared it below if you’d like to try it too. Our suggestion? Serve it warm with a generous dollop of mascarpone or Greek yoghurt, and make it part of your own winter ritual.

As for what to wear on those crisp, early outings? Our Merino/Possum ponchos are a must. They’re incredibly soft, luxuriously warm, and designed to elevate even the most casual outfit. Throw one over your jeans and boots for the market, or layer it over a dress for a relaxed winter dinner out. Versatile, comforting, and oh-so-chic.

This season, we’re embracing that beautiful contrast between cosy and elegant. Between the pace of everyday life and the quiet rituals that help us slow down.

Keep scrolling for Chloe’s orange cake recipe, and don’t forget to stop in-store to try on our winter layers for yourself. We’d love to help you find something perfect for these cooler months. Whether you’re heading to the markets, baking at home, or simply looking for that perfect winter layer, this season, we hope you take the time to enjoy the slower moments.

Explore our winter collection in-store or online, and find pieces that make every day dressing feel a little more beautiful.

With love,
The Tutto Bello Team x

The Italian Orange Cake. This recipe is from the book The Silver Spoon. Below is the recipe that Chloe has slightly adapted. Note - She normally doubles the quantity when she makes it! Because who doesn't want more cake! x

  • 100g butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 80g caster sugar
  • 40g icing sugar
  • 100g plain flour
  • 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • Juice of 2 oranges
  • Zest of 2 oranges

Preheat oven to 180º. Melt butter and set aside to cool slightly. Wisk together the eggs, caster sugar and the icing sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in the melted butter. Sift the flour and baking powder into the mixture, mix well and gently stir in half the orange juice and half the zest. Pour the mixture into a cake tin and bake for 25 minutes. Note - If you double the recipe bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown and the skewer comes out clean.

Meanwhile mix together the icing which is measured with the heart! Use up the remaining zest, and then mix through some icing sugar and some orange juice till you get the desired consistency.

Enjoy with a hot cup of tea and a good book x
