Winter layers and the season ahead

Winter layers and the season ahead

Winter has a way of slowing everything down.

The pace softens. Mornings arrive a little later. Evenings draw us indoors. We gather around tables a little more often, linger over conversations a little longer and find ourselves reaching for the familiar comforts of the season.

It's a feeling we wanted to capture during our recent winter photoshoot.

Set amongst beautiful surrounds, the day was filled with rich colours, soft textures and pieces designed for cooler days ahead. Bright knitwear, cosy scarves, favourite denim and relaxed silhouettes that felt right at home in the season.

One of our favourite pieces from the collection was the Daria jumper. Warm, effortless and available in colours that bring a welcome brightness to winter, it's the kind of piece that quickly becomes part of your weekly rotation.

As we photographed the collection, we found ourselves talking about the simple rituals that make winter feel special. The meals shared with family. A favourite book. Lighting a candle as the sun goes down. A pot of mulled wine simmering gently on the stove.

So naturally, we thought we'd share our favourite recipe.

Mulled wine

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle red wine
  • 1/4 cup brandy or orange liqueur
  • 1 orange
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 8 whole cloves
  • 2 star anise
  • 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
  • Optional garnishes: Citrus slices (orange, lemon or lime) extra cinnamon sticks or extra star anise

Method

Slice one orange and place into a saucepan with the wine, brandy, cinnamon, cloves, star anise, honey (or brown sugar). Stir briefly to combine.

Warm gently over a low heat for 20 to 30 minutes. Avoid boiling, as this can affect the flavour.

Slice the remaining orange and use for serving.

Pour into your favourite mugs or glasses and enjoy slowly.

Behind The Lens

One of our favourite parts of every season is seeing a collection come to life.

Our recent winter shoot wasn't just about showcasing new arrivals. It was about capturing the feeling of winter as we know it. Colour against a crisp winter sky. Scarves wrapped a little tighter on cooler mornings. Knitwear that feels soft from the very first wear. The simple pleasure of gathering with friends and family as the days grow shorter.

There was plenty of laughter between shots, cups of coffee keeping hands warm and conversations about the little things we all look forward to at this time of year.

Looking back through the images, it's those moments we love most. The ones that feel natural, unhurried and genuine.

Because that's what winter is really about. Not rushing through the season, but finding ways to enjoy it.

A season worth savouring

Perhaps that's what we love most about winter.

Not the colder weather or shorter days, but the invitation to slow down and enjoy the things that often get missed in busier seasons.

A long lunch with friends. A favourite recipe shared around the table. A soft jumper pulled on before heading out the door. The simple rituals that bring warmth to everyday life.

As we settle into the season ahead, we're embracing all of it. The gatherings, the textures, the quiet moments and the pieces that accompany us through them.

Our winter collection is available in store and online, thoughtfully chosen for the season ahead.

We look forward to welcoming you in,
